Christmas 2009

Holidays for us is a day of driving. We first went to the Smith's home in Ontario and had breakfast, which was very yummy, maybe because I was so hungry. Than we open gifts and Owen played with his helicopter toy that his dad got him. Then at 2pm we went to my sister's in Beaumont and had a late lunch. Opened some more gifts. Baby Savannah received most of the gifts and she is not even born yet. She is going to be so spoiled by my family. Then we went home around 5pm and at 7pm I went to my aunt's house in Corona to visit my Aunt Maria that came from New York and my cousin Christian who came from San Francisco. Once again I ate again. My uncle cooked dinner (turkey, ham, yams, stuffing, chocolate pie, pumpkin pie and apple pie). He cooked everything by himself and it came out so good, I had two servings. Watched my cousins play Guitar Hero. I finally left at 10pm, exhausted from my day.
I look huge in this picture. I think it's the shirt.

Best Friends - Buck and Jack

Buck and Jack have become best friends quickly. I love how they play with each other, and Jack even plays with Sable. They all get along great, which is a great thing because it made it easier to keep Jack. Jack loves to cuddle with Buck when it is nap time, and he also loves running after Buck in the park. It's like a young sibling trying to follow the older child. It is too adorable.

They have become best friends.

What a happy family

Pirates Dinner Adventure

Owen and I went to a Pirate Dinner Adventure, it's kind of like Medieval Times except with pirates. It was a gift from our friends the Western. We figure we need to go out as much as we can before the baby comes, even though I know my mom would be more than happy to watch the baby for us if we want to catch a dinner and a movie.

Bringing Home a Street Dog

A little Chihuahua was in the apartment complex and I saw him when I was taking Buck out potty. Owen came downstairs and the little one followed him home. I remember seeing him throughout the neighborhood for about 2 weeks, I can't believe he survived. But I know he wouldn't for long. When I got home from my walk with Buck, there was the Chihuahua in the kennel. He is so cute and very loving. Owen and I bathed him and fed him. We debated if we should keep him or find some one who will be willing to adopted him. We got attached to the doggie quite quickly, so we decided to keep him. Owen named him Jack.

WE ARE HAVING A........................

GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I had my appointment to find out how the baby is developing and also to find out what we were having. Owen couldn't go because the appointment was in the middle of the day and he could not get off work. But he said it was ok for me to find out without him.

It took the nurse a while to find out what it was because the baby was being shy. Finally she was able to see that it was a girl. I was happy and so was Owen. I was not that surprise, I kind of was expecting it to be a girl. This is the 5th granddaughter in the Smith family.

Just to make sure that it is a girl, I am going to keep asking the doctor to double check every time I have an appointment. Would hate to have a bunch of cute girl clothing and we end up having a boy.

This is how I decided to tell Owen that we were having a little girl.

We first went to the Trunk-0-Treat from our church and by dog was dressed up as batdoggie.
He is such a great dog, he left is costume on the whole time and lets the children pet him. He love kids, which is great, being that we are going to have a baby.
After the church activity we went to my aunt's party.

12 Weeks Ultrasound

I had my 12 weeks ultrasound on Tuesday, October 6. I had to scan the pictures, that's why it look funny, sorry.

I was excited to get this ultrasound, because it would actually prove I am pregnant. My pregnancy has been so awesome: no heartburn, no vomiting, no food aversion or cravings, that sometimes I wondered if I was even pregnant and it was all in my head.

We saw our little baby sucking its dumb, standing up, saw its fingers and toes, the spine when the baby was stretching. We also heard its heart beat. It was fast, 162 bpm, and the lady who was doing the ultrasound said that that is a girls heart beat, which kind of bummed Owen out a little bit. Hearing the heart beat made Owen realize that we are actually having a baby. We almost cried, we got teary eye.

It is just an amazing experience. I love this baby so much and it's not even born yet.

Pregnancy Test -- POSITIVE

I found out I was pregnant on August 17th of 2009, after I was late. I was so happy, I started crying. I came out of the bathroom to tell Owen (he had not gone to work yet), and he was happy. I hugged him and started crying. I have always been worried that I wouldn't be able to have babies or that it might take me awhile.

I can't believe a little human is growing inside of me. So far I have not had morning sickness or anything. Thank God. I feel so blessed.

Ecuador Trip - July 2009

We went to Ecuador in July for a week. It was lots of fun, but I think Owen had more fun because he did his mission there. He took me to the cities he served and we were able to find some of the people he taught. We flew to the capital (Quito) and stayed there for 2 days. We rented a car and drove back to Guayaquil with many stops in the way. It took us 3 days to get back. These are only a few of the pictures.

This is one of the families that Owen ate dinner at.
The man in the blue shirt was one of Owen's companion.

Laughlin Getaway

We went to Laughlin for a weekend. It was fun, especially riding the jet ski. We went with some friends. I actually think this is the first time we do a getaway with friends, we usually drive to where they live and visit them.
Laughlin was hot, but I thought I was going to get darker. Oh well, maybe next time I won't use SPF 50. There was actually a little rain, which felt so good.
