Starting to Eat Solids

Savannah started eating solids on Sept 23 2010, she was 5 months and 5 days old. I actually tried giving her baby cereal before when she was about 4 months and half, but she did not like it and I also felt she wasn't ready. The only reason I tried was because people were telling me that I should start giving her cereal. One thing I learned is to follow my motherly instinct. I knew she was not ready for cereal.

I tried again at 5 months, but this time I felt that she was ready. She always looked at me with interested when I ate. She had cereal with apple mixed with breast milk and she loved every single bit of it. I know they say that you shouldn't give babies fruit before vegetables, but I figured because she is a breastfed baby she is used to different taste, some what. And I was right. She eats apples, bananas, pears, sweet potatoes, peas, carrots and loves it all. Once again following my motherly instinct.

These next two pictures are at 5 months, great success.

This is a week later. She loves her food

This video is when she ate cereal at 4 months, with no success.

Her First Two Teeth

Don't know if you can tell, but Savannah got her two bottom front teeth at 4 month. I couldn't believe it because I always heard of babies getting their first teeth at around 6-8 months or even later. Maybe she got it so early because I drank so much milk when I was pregnant, about 2 -3 cups a day. Just a theory

FINALLY...A Picture with Mommy

It's been 4 months and I finally have a good picture with my daughter...The only pictures I have with her are me in my pajamas looking a total mess and extremely tired.

These pictures were taken at a baby
shower

She looks so funny...It looks like she is pushing a poop out

Savannah's New Toy

I wanted to get a bouncer for Savannah because she loves being bounced on our knees. So I went online to Babies R Us and found this cute jumperoo for $120...Went to Amazon and it was $80. I thought it was to much money for a toy she is only going to play with for a few months. Instead, I went to craigslist.org - a website where people sell their stuff- and found the same jumperoo for $25. The person selling it lives in Beaumont, which is 40 minutes away from me, so I told my sister to go pick it up because she lives just around the corner from the lady selling the toy.

The jumperoo looks brand new, it has all the toys and all I had to do was wash the seat cover and voila a new toy.

Savannah enjoying her toy

She loves this toy...At first she could only be in it for about 5 minutes before she start crying...Now she can last up to 10-15 minutes

Daddy Turns 33

The day before Owen's birthday we went to Elephant Bar and celebrate his birthday there. Honestly, I just didn't feel like cooking and this was a great excuse to go out and eat. I had the Mongolian Beef and Owen had...You know what I don't remember what Owen order...We were able to take our time eating our food, but when dessert came we had to hurry up because Savannah got extremely fussing...It was past her bed time and she is not a happy camper when she is tired...

On Owen's birthday we celebrated at home with some friends and their kid...I made hamburgers and Brenda brought potato salad...We had ice cream cake and opened gifts...It as very laid back, maybe next year I will invite more people...I was going to invite his parents but they were in Oregon and my family had plans also.

Nathan helping Owen with his gift

This is the gift I gave Owen...It's a mouse pad with a picture of Savannah...Owen is not big on putting picture frames at work, so I figured this will be perfect for him

Owen making his faces

We adopted a child...Just kidding...He is Brenda's kid, but it was so funny how he got in the picture...He was sitting on his chair, but as soon as his mom took the picture he jumped up and got in the picture...I thought it was so funny

Savannah loves taking pictures with her arms up...This is the second one, the first one was her blessing pictures

Once again, Owen and his faces
